Our Background
1. About Zorg Foundation
Zorg Foundation is a community-focused non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering mothers, supporting vulnerable children, and restoring dignity to girls and families across Uganda.
The foundation was officially founded in July 2022 by Naiga Josephine, a trained primary school teacher with a deep passion for child welfare and community service. Before founding Zorg Foundation, Naiga had previously run an orphanage. Unfortunately, that project collapsed due to blackmail and partnerships with the wrong individuals — a painful but formative experience.
In 2020, after receiving guidance and encouragement from Frank Scott Mubiru, she was advised not to reopen an orphanage, but instead to establish an NGO model that could operate transparently, collaborate widely, and support communities across the entire country through partnerships with organizations, communities, and individuals.
With strong support from sponsors in the Netherlands and Belgium, who had previously supported the orphanage project, a new vision was born. The name “Zorg”, a Dutch word meaning “Care,” was chosen to reflect the foundation’s mission of compassion, responsibility, and human dignity.

2. Founder – Naiga Josephine
Naiga Josephine is the Founder of Zorg Foundation. As a primary school teacher, her work with children exposed her early to the deep challenges faced by vulnerable families, especially girls lacking basic necessities and access to education.
Her lived experience running an orphanage — including its collapse — shaped her leadership with resilience, wisdom, and integrity. Rather than giving up, she transformed adversity into purpose by building a stronger, more accountable structure through Zorg Foundation.
Today, Naiga continues to lead with empathy, vision, and a strong commitment to sustainable community impact.
3. Managing Director & Social and Projects Leader – Frank Scott Mubiru
Frank Scott Mubiru serves as the Managing Director and Social & Projects Leader at Zorg Foundation.
Having grown up in an orphanage and under sponsorship programs himself, Frank brings personal understanding, lived experience, and strategic leadership to the organization. His background enables him to guide Zorg Foundation with authenticity, accountability, and a deep focus on long-term development.
He plays a central role in project planning, outreach coordination, organizational growth, and ensuring that Zorg Foundation stays aligned with its mission while delivering real impact on the ground across Uganda.
4. International Support & Partnerships – Bavo Van Eesbeek
Bavo Van Eesbeek, from Belgium, supports Zorg Foundation through international support and partnerships.
He plays a key role in strengthening relationships with international supporters, donors, and partner organizations.
